  1. stay away from tacoma, lacey, puyallup, lakewood, southcenter, and seatac...bellevue is rich and uppity...shoreline, ravenna, moutnlake terrace, lynnwood, mill creek, mukilteo, edmonds, that area

  2. Bellevue is pricy and for the "yuppie" crowd (JK, not all of them are yuppies), Tacoma is known for being the Meth capitol of the West Coast.

if your looking for safe, quite, simi-expensive and accessible to shops and downtown Seattle, I would look in the neighborhoods of: Des Monies, Normandy Park, upper West Seattle, Ballard (closer to the water), Lake Forest Park, Renton Highland or Kent.

here are a few links that may help you

    good luck

  3. I'd stay away from King County if possible. If a place in Marysville or Monroe works for you, you are in good shape.

Tacoma has some pretty bad areas. Bellevue is at least as expensive as Seattle.

  4. Tacoma is NOT a good place. I would not recommend moving to that area at all. Bellevue is a really nice place but it is expensive. I would say Shoreline, Renton, Kent, West Seattle, and Ballard. All of these areas have really nice homes that are a lot cheaper than what you would be able to find in Bellevue.
