These are really good games for 10-12 year olds.

I would suggest you play the classics, Monopoly, LIFE, Scrabble, Clue, and maybe some odd ones, Imaginiff, Trouble, Outburst Jr., or Upwords.

Pfft.  Ignore the multiple suggestions of boring old games like Monopoly, Life, and Clue.  They are yesterday's games!

If you are looking for a game for a 12 year old boy (or maybe even a girl), then the best thing you can get them is HEROSCAPE by Hasbro.  It is a game about combat between heroes and villains from all different time periods and genres (from medieval knights and dragons to superheroes and space adventurers).  It is a game that would thrill any pre-teen (I even know adults that play it) and is readily available at the local Toys R Us (and maybe at Target or WalMart).  Plus there are lots of expansion packs available for future gift ideas.

CLUE!!!!!! I love this game this has become our family game every Sunday. I have an 11 year old and she loves it as well as monopoly. i have the digital  clue game which i'm not sure you can get.However, I did manage to get another one from ebay. my first one we wore out!.have fun!!
