  4. This is my third year teaching middle school Language Arts, and I would have to say that some of the books my students love most are:

    *Where the Red Fern Grows

    *Bridge to Terabithia

    *Al Capone Does My Shirts

    *The Giver

*Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of Nimh

    *Eragon

*Of course the entire Harry Potter series

    *Artemis Fowl series

*The Outsiders (more adult in content/violence) and any book by S.E. Hinton.  They are my students' favorites.

    *The Tale of Despereaux

    *Bud, Not Buddy

*Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry

    *Pendragon

The books below are probably some that are a bit easier but are still great books.

    *Shiloh

    *The Cay

    *A Wrinkle in Time

    *Number the Stars

    Have fun reading!

I don't mean to sound negative, but Animal Farm, Of Mice and Men, The Scarlett Letter, and The Great Gatsby are books typically taught in high school.  Though they are all excellent books, they might be a bit too much.  I was in all advanced classes and didn't read them until high school or college.
