  1. So far, the best overall view of strategy I've gotten is from Yilun Yang's books. Specifically his "Fundamental Principles of Go" and "Whole Board Thinking in Joseki".

    Though it should be said that the book that has had the greatest effect on my progress Kiseido press' "Get Strong at Tesuji" (not to be confused w. simply "Tesuji" by James Davies). By just doing a few pages a day of problems I made significant progress.

    I would also recommend Otake Hideo's "Opening Theory Made Easy", Ishigure Ikuro's "In the Beginning" and Takeo Kajiwara's "The Direction of Play" (though this last one is out of print).
