  1. I almost always wear my 7" zip harness boots riding, but most people where Doc Marten style boots that cover the ankle for riding.

  2. I've got a pair of Alpinestars SMX-3's that I've used nearly every day for the past year and a half with no prob's what so ever - O.K. they aren't cheap but they will last a long time and protect your fragile ankles if you crash. I wear them to work and regularly forget to change into my work shoes as the Astar's are so comfy. They aren't everyone's cup of tea - especially if your riding a cruiser they would look a bit weird - but it's your choice in the end.

  3. What you suggest sounds fine...the requirement is they cover your ankles. I wore a pair of just-over-the-ankle square toed western style riding boots. Helps to have something with a good durable sole, as a lot of 'fashion' shoes will melt easily if they come into contact with hot pipes.

  4. Yea I work for an MSF course most people just bring hiking boots.

I have Thor "Attack" boots- excellent for riding sportbikes, MX, anything. I got the white.

  5. When I took the class, I wore my timberland boots.

Now that I'm riding, I bought Harley boots (got 'em on sale even though I don't ride a harley).

  6. should be good enough for MSF

i'd suggest some good alpinestar, Icon, or joe rocket gear when you go out riding...

    good gear saves lives...
