  1. Riedells are an overall good brand that many lower level skaters use. It's the most popular brand in Mexico and I used them for a long time with a mostly positive opinion on them.

A lot of skaters like SP Teris and Risports but they aren't for everyone. I've heard Risports are very hard skates and are hard to break into, but I know some mexican skaters that use them.

When you get to a higher level of skating (still way off from your current level so don't worry about it), you'll have to buy custom skates. My skates are Harlick Customs because I have the most fidgety feet ever and the boots are mostly comfortable (and a lot lighter than ordinary skates). However they are very expensive, costing me over 1000 dollars which is why I say stick to regular skates.

A lot of skaters use Klingbeils and Jacksons but neither brand is popular in Mexico.

These are the most important brands, but to know which boot fits your specific foot needs, you have to try them yourself at a shop.

At your current height, I suggest you wholesomely to consider moving into Ice Dancing when you are at the point of landing the single Axel (which is far away right now, but a good idea to think over). You have the perfect height for ice dancing.

FYI, Ice dancers use slightly different boots for their sport. The back heel is lower and the blades are somewhat different from single skaters but the brands as such are the same as single skater boots.

  2. brian boytono limited edition skates from wal mart

  3. i personally like jackson, i have jackson classiques, they are really supportive and comfortable, and they don't cost a fortune!!

  4. judging by oppinions of others i know, harlick, SP Teri's, risport and gams sound good... what level boot you need (if you're planning on buying some..?) will depend on how much you skate, what you're doing when you skate, height, weight, etc etc.. not just boot brand...

  5. ridell , jackson most skates are made the same but the brand new reidells are the best for freestyle my friend got them and the first day she wore them she was landing doubles perfectly.  With out any bumps or bruises.

  6. Harlick, Riedell, Klingbeil, S.P. Teri and Jackson.

  7. i think all are good brands but it all depend on your foot.

a high-price famous skate doesnt guarantee you feeling comfortable and also it depends on your level.

if you still do a double jumps or basic you dont have to use a pricey skate but choose the med-price skate.

harlick maybe suitable for those who skate softly but it'll broken fast if you skate harsh and rough (it was my experience)

SP Teri is long-lasting boots and hardly breakable but it more painful to use at the first time

Riedell i think is the most lightweight boots ever...

me myself use harlick finalist for more than 4 years and i feel fitted with it.

good luck and my suggestion is it'll be better if you try to wear all brands and you'll find which is best for you

  8. Risports. They are very easy to break in, and they dont give you blisters. :) I have been using this brand for 3 years and my coaches have been using them even longer.

  9. It really depends on what level your skating on, for lower leve I would recommend Ridels, they are easier to break in and have good starting suppourt for begining skaters, but if your a higher level skater harlick and SP Teri's would be my suggestion, the reaon I wouldnt recommend Ridel if your higher is because they break down easier the harder you skate.

    Hope I helped!

  10. Ridell is goo, so is Jackson
