I have Nemo, Ice Age, Barnyard, Toy Stories. and the backyardigans. I would like to keep the kids entertained while I get some house work done. The kids and I are tired of hearing and watching the same movies over and over.

  1. My 2 yr old likes Backyardigans, seasame street, Spongebob is her favorite. She also likes Teletubbies.

They have a few good cartoons on PBS.

  2. Backyardigans is popular. Nemo too.

  3. my 2yo loves dora, diego wonder pets, curious george, max and ruby and yo gabba gabba... i tivo a few at a time and let him watch them.

you can use on demand if you have it too or get the videos from netflix also...

  4. even though it's not a cartoon, my 2-yr-old loves the wiggles! she dances and sings, and better yet, she will not leave the living room if it's on. she also likes dora and diego. she gets really bored watching blue's clues and sesame street.

  5. kids that young really shouldn't be watching tv while you are doing house work. Just put on some music they can listen to or dance to. They should be playing with their toys instead of watching tv.

    Good luck

  6. Backyardigans and the like are great nothing like Nemo, Ice Age or Barnyard aren't really approprate, if you need to go borrow from the local library Seseame street shows and the like or Baby Einstein. Heck at that age my youngest loved lil Einsteins and the music.

  7. Dora the Explorer and Diego

  8. Anything on the Noggin channel.  Every cartoon and show is made for pre-school age children.  My 3 year old (just turned 3 Saturday) has already learned shapes and colors and can count to 7.

  9. My two year old daughter loves Diego, Big Comfy Couch, Barney... anything with singing really.

  10. Blue's clues and Caillou are great for small kids

  11. I think it's perfectly fine to let your kids watch TV.  I'm sure you're not cleaning your house for four hours at a time.

My absolute favorite are the Scholastic videos.  They continue to crank these out and they are always of excellent quality.  It's like seeing the books come alive.  HBO also offers some wonderful programs for children, just check age guidelines.

Baby Einstein tapes are great...also, if your children have a particular interest in something such as trains, you can find box-set dvds with beautiful documentary-style footage at your local warehouse club for under $30.  I'm sure you can find dvds like this in stores or at your local library with baby animals...etc.

PBS and Noggin have the best offerings in my opinion, as far as the networks go, for really young ones.

  12. My twins have loved Dora and Diego since they were very young.  What I think is most entertaining for them is that Dora and Diego engage with the kids.  Both shows introduce the basics of spanish language too - though they dont use the words they have learned, this will be helpful in later years when learning a foreign language.

AND, its not silly but instead each episode really has a great theme and story, most kids shows irritate me if Im watching with the kids but neither of these do.

  13. My daughter loves Cinderella and the ones you named off.  We also like watching Little House on the Prairie...Good Luck and God Bless!

  14. try noggin! My daughter loved it! Now we don't get it and she don't really watch tv, except for nite nite time and thats barney and some dr. suess movies.
