My boyfriend and I are going to Vancouver June 13-15 for my 20th birthday and I'm wondering what clubs and restaurants are good and why? We like Top 40, R&B, and Hip-hop so we're looking for a club with that type of music and one that is pretty safe, popular, trendy etc. Any ideas? I've looked at plush, caprice, republic, celebrities, and plaza. Are these good and why? For restaurants, fine dining that is modern and has good food and service, and a nice view is a bonus. We like westcoast food like beef, chicken, lamb, vegtables. Any ideas? Some of the places I've looked at are Nu, Stonegrill, C restaurant, Lift, Glowbal, boathouse, gotham steakhouse, cardero's. Are these good and why? For brunch I've looked at Five sails restaurant, cosmic cafe, sunshine diner. Good and why? I'm looking for bacon and eggs. Dowtown or close to for clubs and restaurants is best. And for shopping I've heard Robson st, what places on Robson for young, fashionable clothes and shoes? Thanks!!!

  3. Good question. Going there myself this summer. looking at Victoria or Sidney to stay. here is a sitewww.tourismvictoria.com

  4. I just got back from Vancouver, having stayed there May 28th and May 29th. I stayed in the Yaletown section of the city in the Opus Hotel-a very cool hotel, indeed. I used to be a flight attendant, so I feel that I am quite qualified to recommend hotels! Would use the words 's**y' and 'eclectic' to describe the hotel. Don't know if you need a place to stay, but it's not on a busy street, although MANY restaurants are within walking distance. You must go to Bin 941 on Davie Street!!! (same street as hotel). Be aware, however, of the 'tapas' or 'share plate' trend at this, and several restaurants in Vancouver, where food items don't come all at once, like your traditional meat, potato, vegetable meal, but rather one at a time on its own plate. Apparently quite popular in Spain (tapas is a spanish word, from what I learned). Anyway, try this different style of dining...I did, just because it doesn't exist where I live-New Hampshire-and it was fun to try something different! I travel by myself, so I didn't stay out late to check out the club scene, although I did 'hear' alot of partiers walking the streets late at night!  If you go to Bin 941, either call to see if they take reservations, or go early-excellent food! (I wrote down in my journal my 'entire' dining experience there!). Don't be afraid to take public transportation, either-it's easy. $2.50 one way-exact change only-although the bus ticket is

good for a couple hours, so you could in theory use the same ticket if you use it by the time that's stamped on the ticket. Let me know if you need more info!!!
