  1. Go to Barnes and Noble (Borders has this as well, but B&N tends to have a better selection...and I've worked at both places) and check out their section for theatre. They have tons of monologue books categorized in many different ways. I have a monologue book that is 2-minute long comedic pieces for men and women, another 2-minute monologue book of classical monologues, several books of monologues just for women that are categorized by the year they were published, etc.

Directors want you to use monologues from real plays, and that's what these books have. They also tell you what type of monologue it is, what the play is, and who wrote it. Most will also tell you the age range for that character. They're VERY useful if you intend to audition a lot.

  2. Well, I'm not sure. It really all depends on your acting style. I LOVE serious parts, but some just don't really work with the way I act. But if you really want some I have a few links:

(i'm not so sure about the 2nd one being funny, but you can make it that way)

    Good Luck!
