You can use bascially anything, if you dont want ot keep the pelt and just kill them then i would get anything you wanted. If you wanted to keeep it i prefer the 22-250. MOst people will tell you 223. which is a great gun but for the longgest ranges the 22-250 is a bit better. The 22-250 is good for short to amazingly long ranges and the 223. is good for short to long ranges.

Just about any kind of flat shooting rifle such as a 223, 250, 243, and 25-06. my personal favorite is the 223.

Your best choices are the 22 Magnum, 22 Hornet, 218 Bee, 222, 22-250.* Pick one they all are adequate and up to the task.*

I think I have shot coyotes with every Rifle that I have ever hunted with, but for shooting at more than one coyote or for a quick follow up shot at a running " Dog" I like my BAR in .30-06.

These rifles are excellent choices for shots to 300 yards and more depending on your ammo, optics and skill.... If you will be taking shots in closer like 150 yards or less then surely consider the Ruger Mini 14

Anything from the .22 LR to say a .243 Winchester.  If you wish to keep the pelt a .223 w/FMJ is good.  With .22 LR & .22 Mag. try for head shots.
