What are good exercises/workouts to help vertical leap?

I'm wanting to know good exercises/workouts to help my vertical jump. I can grab the rim with out even running or exercising, so I want to work my legs out so that I can slam it.

  1. well if u can grab rim..u only need a couple inches to dunk...i suggest Air Alert.. it worked 4 me! i cant dunk yet but at 5'9'' i can get over the rim. my vertical is 35, and still growin!!

    so good luck and TRY AIR ALERT!! everybody doesnt think it work, but the exercises are basic - and it tells u when to work out for maximum muscle development..


  2. if you go to the gym you should use the leg press machine. but if your still growing that's not such a good idea. But if your at home you should do curl ups( most of your jumping ability believe it or not comes from your abs).  

    But the best exercise is doing squats

  3. Best thing you can do is get good at squats. Those alone will boost your vertical if you make each rep explosive. Every rep should be completed as fast as possible. Building that strength base will allow plyometrics to be very effective in the future. There's good info and exercises here http://offto.net/jumpjump

  4. Calf raises and step ups....slam it on a *****!!!!
