What are good foods to pack in a school lunch?

My 8 year old daughter is a seafood- vegetarian. She will not eat tuna at lunch because it gets soggy. I know that a peanut butter and jelly sandwich is not ideal to eat every single day. I feel like all I pack is sugar. What do you pack in your child's lunch?

  1. take a small contanier and put ranch or some kinda of dressing (whatever she likes) and pack a vegetable like carrots or cucumbers so now she has (example) ranch and carrots.

You can pack a bannana or apple

You could also pack dry cereal

Or an 80 calorie gernola bar

  2. let her buy lunch at school

  3. My daughter is 8 and she dose not like to eat meat. so i pack her peanut butter and banana sandwiches, vegetables, fruit, she also loves cucumber wraps or on a cheese bun or on bread with some mayo. cheese strips, ( the real stuff ). you can also make the tuna into a dip and put it into a container and pack crackers for her to make her own minny sandwiches. My daughter loves that! yogurt tubes that have been frozen are always a hit as well. hope this helps a bit!

  4. I make my daughter this:

one tortilla /spread hummus on one side/ grated carrots/ salad/ toasted sesame seeds/ roll it/ cut it in half........it's sooo good!

Sometimes she gets some falafel in it as well ;)

  5. Salad sandwich, dried fruits, juice box, celery with peanut butter, nuts, baby beCheerheese, a treat, fruit, fruit bars, left overs from dinner the night before, cheese and biscuts,  hope that helped a bit x

  6. I normall pack a small water or a easy to open juice box, a peanutbutter and jelly sandwich, carrots in a small container, one sweet and a ice pack.

for your daughter I would pack a couple pieces of suhi without any crab meat or anything other, juice or water, one sweet, chopsticks ( if needed) and probaly a pack of gummies.

  7. Does your daughter use a lunchbox? If so you could pack things inside containers, like soup in a thermos, or a salad in Tupperware. And nutella, a chocolaty nut spread can be put on bread for a unusual (but tasty) sandwich.

  8. Come join one of the Flickr groups (a photo sharing community) where lunch enthusiasts pack lunches and share ideas, and photos of the lunches, in all manner of lunch kits.   Mostly bento boxes and laptop lunch systems, which make lunch quite fun (I'm an adult and I pack bento lunch boxes daily, which does not necessarily mean Japanese food -- it's a concept and a style).  Many of the groups are youth oriented to help you pack healthy, interesting, and pretty lunches for your child.  I've linked you to some of the groups.  Even if you don't join, browse the packed lunches and make notes of those which would appeal to your daughter and are easy for you.
