Try each of the companies you like specifically for any information.  Before that build up a portfolio of items you've created such as OOAK (One of a Kind) figures from the basic ones you can buy at the stores, or items from an artistic range such as sculpture, sketches, color designs and the like.  

Also for examples or what people are looking for try checking eBay for OOAK (One of a Kind) and see what it is people are shopping for.  Also, look on the Internet for the people or customizers who are doing what they like with action figures and such and what they're looking for on the market.  Sometimes you can make a business just on supplemental items for a certain type/genre.
