  1. a marine biologist  .. would be interesting for you also for all the wide eyed kids too

Good Luck  I think you know what I mean  :-)

  2. A lot of the jobs that aren't direct teaching positions have to do with special needs children.  But you could be a reading or math specialist.  You'd still need to get your teaching degree then take 6 or so classes to get your reading or math endorsment.  You could be a school librarian or school nurse.  You could do IT for a school.  Some larger districts have dedicated IT people that aren't in a classroom.  You could be a guidance counsellor or work with the Child Study Team as a social worker or LDT-C.

The reading/math specialist and the CST jobs would put you in contact with special education children, but in a regular ed. district, you would not have TOO much contact with more severe disabilities.  My son is special ed and he was sent to a "special services school district."  A lot of the counties have their own special services school districts that the kids go to.  So, my son was seen by our town's CST (the "sending district") once a year, but the rest of the year he was seen by his school's CST (the receiving district.)  So I wouldn't discount a CST position off the bat.

For other jobs, teaching experience is a prerequisite for the job.  So you'd have to teach first before becoming a principal or other administrator, such as a Master Teacher, Director of a Department, Educational Consultant, or Curriculum Development.

  3. A summer camp worker is fun.

Most of it you sort of learn on the job.

    Anything with recreation is good.
