What are good musical songs to get the role of rusty in footloose?

I'm a mezzo-soprano but i can also sing really low notes too.

I'm in love with this role but can anybody give me tips to succeed in getting this role? :] please!!

i think "Forget About the Boy" From Thouroughly Modern Millie has a good sound that's similar (ironically) to "Let's Hear it For The Boy"

Anything from Hairspray would be a good choice too. Something belty, upbeat, fun, that shows alot of expression and playfulness. Really get into it!

Rusty is fun, cute, witty, and kind of sassy, have a lot of fun with it.  She's kind of flirty, especially in "let's hear it for the boy." so choose something that has that kind of vibe.  It's a dancing role, too, at least it was when I was in this show, so make sure you're ready for that.  and if you're not a dancer, once again, just have fun with it... Rusty would!
