  1. Shop on the Left bank (Rive Gauche) near the Sorbonne (university).  You'll be surprised how similar the stores are to American stores though.

  2. If you are looking for reasonably priced jewlery there is a store called Kazana. They have really cool jewlery that is imported from Africa, they also have scarves and bags. You can find the store on 7 rue Lagrange. There are also some really inexpensive clothing stores in the Quartier Latin. I hope you have a wonderful time, it may be a little chilly so I would bring warmer clothes but still pack some warm weather things. When you go to the eiffel tower there will be people selling things, they are very persistant and if you keep saying no most of the time they lower the price so you will buy it. When I was there I got into an argument with one of these men and I ended up buying a light up crystal eiffel tower for 2euros when one of my friends payed 15 for one. You will be able to buy many cool souveniers this way.

  3. people mostly keep to themselves in paris. it's very rainy, and some parts are really dirty. The money is different, so you will probably not find many inexpensive clothes.

  4. There's a sort of open market in Montmartre that has a lot of clothes for really good prices. They aren't necessarily the best quality, as it's a flea market, but they're definitely cool. I got one of my favorite dresses there, and it's held up just fine! A word of caution, though: people will try and sell you things like belt buckles and wallets in the street. Don't speak to them, and don't make eye contact; just keep walking. Also, I wouldn't go to Montmartre alone, but the market is well worth checking out with a friend!

  5. Dear 31285, I read welI your message, you need cool clothes, I advice that you buy your clothes in States, they are cheaper in the malls or in Century 21 in NYC, I go to NYC several times/yearly, I leave Paris with my empty luggage and buy many clothes and many shoes in States, less of half price and famous brands, $ is very low and the average of clothes in France with € is high, sorry but $ 200 = 120 €, it's the price for 2 pants. A jean Diesel is 100€, I don't know some inexpensive places, sorry. Welcome in France !
