I am going on a week long vacation to Spain and we are probably going to the sun coast, what are some good cities to check out. I would like a nice beach scene and surfing would be a plus. I have been maybe 20 or so times, so not advanced.

  1. Malaga is the most popular place on the costa del sol but you may want to see Nerja and Ronda but you must not miss cadiz. Conil has good wind and wave but is very spanish and is not on the med coast

  2. Granada is an awesome city and about 45 minutes from the coast. The beaches along the southern coast are nice and chill. However, there really isn't surfing on the southern coast because there aren't big enough swells. If you want to surf, go to Portugal, the northern coast of Spain, or the Canary Islands (it's actually a relatively cheap flight from Malaga, a major city on the Souther Spain coast to the Canary Islands and worth looking into if you're keen on surfing). Even if you don't get a chance to surf you should still have a great time on the southern coast.

  3. The best cities to check in southern Spain out are all cities. Seville, Granada and Cordoba all have their aficionados - but both Ronda and Málaga are up and coming as well.

It will depend on the sort of person you are.

    Vibrant : Seville

    Calm : Córdoba

    Romantic : Granada

    Hip : Tarifa

Surfer: the whole Costa de la Luz

  4. Spain is many countries all rolled into one therefore the culture in Spain is very varied and interesting. See http://www.spain4uk.co.uk/Spain_culture.... for more details
