What are good rare pokemon to catch and where can i find them in Pokemon Diamond?

Well the main rare legendary pokemon in Diamond are Uxie, Azelf, Mespirit, Giratina, Regigigas, Heatran, Cresselia and Dialga.

Dialga is obtainable at level 47 at the top of the Spear Pillar which is accessed through Mount Coronet. It is relatively easy to catch once weakened with an Ultra Ball.  Dialga is Dragon/Steel type.

(To make these legendary pokemon easier to catch without using a Masterball, as well as weakening them either paralyze, put them to sleep, poison them or freeze them. I also found especially with Giratina, the lowering its defense helped me a lot).

After Dialga is found, the three pokemon of the lake (Uxie, Mespirit and Azelf) can be obtained. Uxie is found at level 50 in the cave in the middle of Lake Acuity. Uxie is a Psychic type.

Azelf is found at level 50 in the cave in the middle of Lake Valor. Azelf is a Psychic type.

Mespirit is a bit different and very annoying to catch. It is originally found at level 50 in the cave in the middle of Lake Verity. Once you have seen it, it runs away into the wilderness. It then appears randomly in the grass throughout Sinnoh. The best way to find it is by using the Marking Map Poketch app to follow it around Sinnoh. Once you find it, it will run off after one turn. To avoid this use the move Mean Look on it to prevent it escaping. If you damage it, the damage carries on until it faints or is caught. All three are easy enough to catch with an Ultra Ball. Mespirit is a Psychic type.

Regigigas is found in BF5 of the Snowpoint Temple. It is as level 70 and in order for it to be woken you must have Regirock, Regice and Registeel in your party. (These are obtainable by migrating them from Ruby, Sapphire or Emerald, or by use of an Action Replay.) It is very difficult to catch but I managed it with an Ultra Ball. Regigias is Normal type.

Heatran is found in Stark Mountain near the Survival Area at level 70. When you first go to Stark Mountain you team up with Buck and fight your way to a room at the end. Buck takes the Lava Rock which is in the room and disappears out of the mountain. Go and find her in a house in the Survival Area. She then takes the stone back and when you return to the room Heatran is waiting for you. It is very easy to catch with an Ultra Ball or my friend caught one with a Premier Ball. Heatran is a Fire/Steel type.

Giratina is the hardest one to catch and the most tedious to find. Once you have the National Pokedex head to route 214. From here you can access a turn off which leads to Turnback cave. (Take a Pokemon which knows defog as the place is full of it!) Giratina is at the very back of the cave and is at level 70. Even though it is hard it is possible to catch with an Ultra Ball. Giratina is a Ghost/Dragon type.

Cresseila is like Mespirit, although it is only obtainable with the National Dex. In the West side of Canalave city there is a house. In the house talk to the little boy (He is having bad dreams brought on by Darkrai  which is only obtainable through cheating) and then outside talk to the sailor. He asks you to set sail to Fullmoon Island where you find Cresselia. She runs off and again chase her with the marking map. She is very hard to catch and so use a Masterball on it if you need to. Cresselia is a Psychic type.

A couple of things to remember: There are only one of each of these pokemon. Therefore save in front of them before battling them so if you do cause them to faint and need to try catching them again, you can simply switch your DS off and on again. Hope that helps.

Diagla= spear piller.....defeat the galaltic boss, cyrus and diagla would be waiting ther for you at level 50. type: dragon and steel

Heatran= in stark mountain....after you defeated the elite 4, finished the pokedex and recived the national pokedex, go to the fight area, to the survival area and to stark mountain. inside there would be this guy who would pair up with you to find this stone or something, but in the end he would take it and you would need to find him....he would be in the survival area in the house beside the pokemon centre... he would return the stone and you would have to go back to stark mountain, back to the room where the stone is...heatran would be waiting for you there. at level 50. Type: fire and steel   Ability: flash fire

Cresselia= in half moon island.....to go to half moon island you would have to defeated the elite 4 and have gotten you national pokedex....anyway, go to canalave city and talk to the sailor and find out that his son is sick... he would ask you to get something to cure his son on half moon island...he would take you there and on the island you would go inside an entrance og some trees and you would see Cresselia there. when you talk to it, it would escape, but leave the medicene behind.....what you should do is to use your poketech app [i think that's what it's called}.... use the map one and you would see a face there..... follow the face....do NOT fly to the face or the location would change, bike or walk there.... BUT before that make sure you have a pokemon that knows the move "mean look".. usually golbat knows the move....so when you meet up with cresselia, use your poekmon that knows mean look and use the move on cresselia so it won't escape on you... level:50   type: psychic    ability: levitate

Giratina: in turnback cave......again after you defeated the elite 4 and recived your nation dex a new route called Spring Path would be opened on route 214....follow the path and go inside turnback cave..... inside there would be a few rooms in the middle room Giratina would be waiting for you at level 50 or 70...{forgot}     type: dragon and ghost      ability: pressure

i find these 4 pokemon are good..... but the rare pokemon that you can also catch is alzelf, mesprite and uxie....they would be inside each cavern at each lake.....they are all at level 50, you can catch them after you defeated Team Galatic....mesprite would escape on so be prepared....

A Gible is easy to catch when it evolves to Garchomp at level 48, it is good.

Gible is found at B1F of Wayward Cave located at Route 207.

You can found it easily by walking around in the cave at a rarity of 15% at level 15 - 17.

ubers are boring! everyone has them, and aren't as powerful as some pokemon if you train them better. like these below:

Magby appears in Route 227 and Stark Mountain with Leaf Green inserted into the GBA slot.

Elekid appears in Route 204, 205 and Valley Windworks with Fire Red inserted into the GBA slot.

Also, in Diamond, Elekid has a 50% chance of holding an Electirizer, but just 5% in Pearl.

The reverse is true for Magby, with Magmarizer.

then, just evolve the magby in magmar, and trade it with a magmarizer attached, and you've got magmortar! the most powerful fire type.

same with elekid. evolve in electabuzz, and trade with electirizer, and you've got electivire - the most powerful electric type.

these pokemon are extremely good, with very high speed and special attack.

I recommend you find a friend to trade with in order to get rhyperior (trade rhydon while holding protector), magnezone (level up a magneton in Mt.Coronet), Magmotar (trade a magmar while holding magmarizer), Tangrowth (level up a tangela with the move ancient power), Electrive (trade electabuzz while holding electrizer), Yanmega (level up yanma with the move ancient power), Togekiss (level up toegetic while holding Shiny stone), and lickilicky (level up lickitung with the move rollout)

All the pokemon are good choices and are all very powerful and are all required to complete the pokedex
