  1. Ive been homeschooled for years because in 3rd grade one of my teachers tried to hold you back a grade but you can just say something like you feel like you cant consentrate with all the kids talkin while you work or something like that.

  2. You shouldn't talk to anyone at the school about home schooling.  Do you know they get money for every student enrolled?  So they will always tell you you shouldn't home school.  Contact a local home school group and they can tell you what the procedure is as far as withdrawing from public school.

  3. Is there really a reason and you are afraid to admit it to your mom? Home school can be good because you are able to get one on one attention when needed, you can go quicker in certain areas of school and take a little longer in others if needed, and you are able to alter your learning desires to better suit what you want to do for a career. But remember home schooling can be very hard and isn't something to jump into just because you don't like school.

  4. to get away from the perverted people!!! like me!!!

  5. I agree with mara up there ^^^ she is right.

But if you do still go and talk to the couselour tell him the truth. Tell him why you feel you need to, all the gory details. I talked to my school counselour after i talked to a REAL one and she agreed with my decision.

good luck, and email me if you ever just need to talk about homeschooling =)

  6. Sit yourself down with a pen and paper. Spend a bit of time on google reading up on other people's reasons for homeschooling. If any ring a bell with you, write them down.

    Maybe:

~You are sick of the pigeonholing, peer pressured environment

~Topics are scheduled with no thought to chronology or providing context for the information presented

~ You don't feel you have time to learn anything properly

~Your school doesn't even offer the electives you'd like to take

~You want time to get out into the community and volunteer

~You don't have time to put the stuff you learn into practise so you can see how it works in the real world

Some flaws in my education :)

  7. Okay, a word of advice from someone who's been through the whole leaving school to homeschool process WITH mom's support. Your councilor is NEVER going to agree with you that you should homeschool. Public school councilors are usually the most biased against homeschooling, and in my case, even with my mom wanting to homeschool as much as I did, my councilor did everything in her power to try to stop us and convince us to stay in public school. I know tons of other homeschoolers who experienced the same thing at different schools. Seems to be the trend. If you and your mom want real advice about homeschooling and whether it's a good idea or not, look up your local homeschool support group, and talk to the people there. They will give you the best homeschool related advice, share their stories, offer resources, and lots lots more. You can still talk to your councilor, but you really should talk to homeschoolers in your area as well so you get a look at both sides of the coin.
