My boyfriend and I are planning to move to Canada to start fresh. I'm in my early 20's and he is in his late 20's. What city would be nice to live in?

  1. If you are looking for reasons, you probably need to think twice about moving there.

In the meantime, you can start to apply to immigrate. It's going to take quite a long time to get permission to work in Canada.

  2. Only reason I can think of is their Healthcare, everyone gets it there not like here in the US.

Never been to Canada though myself so I really wouldn't know which city is best.

  3. Go to a city where there are jobs. But in order to work in Canada you have to complete all the Permits to be able to do that.

  4. I see this type of question a lot these days, from Americans.

Most of them seem to think that it is like moving from Ohio to New York state. They forget that  Canada is a foreign country, with it;'s own  laws and practices. You can't just drive up here and  "get a job ".

Canada gets many applications,  each year, from EVERY country on the planet, and now we have a back log of over 900 thousand files, all wanting to come here. Obviously, we have to decide on who we want to come here, and those decisions are made based on what is "best for Canada ".

We want educated people with actual work skills, who have the ability to fit in to our society. At this time, we are really in need of trades people, who can build homes, and new factories, and who are ready to work, now. We also need nurses, and auto mechanics, and welders and  steel  fabricators.

  5. weed is legal there!

  6. For one our economy is in a better place than the USA right now, we're not in recession. Canada's very peaceful, and not as crowded as the US. And as for which City to live in, If you guys love to party, come to Montreal, where the streets are never empty no matter what time it is. It's definitely a party place. It's also french ( you'll be fine if you don't know how to speak french, most people are bilingual here), so who knows, you might learn a new language :p.  If not Halifax is a wonderful place too...

  7. Vancouver! Its so scenic. The mountains, the ocean...and theres so much to do. Hike the mountains, walk, swim the ocean, go to playdium, Stanley park, Watch a Canucks game at the GM place, The harbor view, take the sea bus, walk downtown, open a phonebook and find somwthing new.

  8. I used to think I wanted to move to Canada so I started taking jobs in Canada to check em out. What I found is there is no reason for an American to be moving there really. Even if you love snow, the snow is better here.

Canadians are taxed to the gills. They're economy is based on selling stuff to the U.S. The weather sucks. It's being swamped with so many immigrants the whole culture is reeling. The shopkeepers are mostly dishonest. And a subject close to my heart. The "crimestoppers/crimewatch/aware program which I hold as the number one scourge of western society today, is far advanced in Canada over what it is in the U.S. with no indication of it being curtailed, as it may very well be here in the U.S.

I suggest you concider a fresh start right here.
