I'm thinking of playing acoustic guitar. But I don't know what guitar is bad or good. Any recommendations? Is this good or bad? --> http://www.guitarcenter.com/Seagull-The-Original-S6-Acoustic-Guitar-104069091-i1147556.gc

  1. if you're buying that expensive buy Takamine

trust me you'll like it     GOOD LUCK

Things to look for in an acoustic; SOLID top(soundboard), rosewood fingerboard and bridge (or ebony)

try to take private lessons, it helps alot and learn to read notation before tab. Best teachers will have you do chords and scales.

  2. ha grandpa's guitar no, get an electric

  3. 1) start with something cheap. I didn't follow your link, but Seagulls are a bit nicer. Buy a 99 dollar special, and see if you like it, first of all.

Seagulls are nice guitars, by the way. I'd just suggest testing your pain threshold on a laminated-top (cheapy) guitar before you try getting a nicer tone.

    2) I reported and down-thumbed that last answer myself. Useless flamers water down the effective answering potential of this site, and that sucks.

If you don't like the question, don't answer it. It's up to askers to regulate (and dispatch with) the jerk 13 year olds who come on to vent their adolescent rage on random strangers.

  4. im more experienced with starting in electric guitar, but these ideas can work for both. After all, a guitar is a guitar.

For electric, I reccomend starting on a squire. Its cheap, feels good and gets the job done. Try seeing if you can get a starter kit with an affinity series squier in it. Be sure to get some plectrums while you're out there!!

After you get a guitar, look online for some starter guitar lessons or go to a music store that offers lessons.

I must stress how important it is to start off with a nice posture. Hold your pick the way they tell you to avoid fustration in the future. Also, don't have your thumb over the neck while you playing.

I think that covers up about most of it. Don't forget to play some of your favourite songs that are in your playing level. You should also try making your own songs too.

    Its what keep guitar fun.

    Good luck! =)
