If your friend is coming to Sydney - you can't beat "Lee's Fortuna Court" in Crows Nest.  The absolute best Chinese Restaurant.  Ask for the Lamb Pancakes.

For a great seafood restaurant with Harbour Views try "Doyles" at either Circular Quay (which is in the city) or Watsons Bay.

There are so so many more
