I am going to 6 Flags Great Adventure in New Jersey tomarrow. I want to ask 2 questions. The first being is it worth it to ride Kingda Ka if their is a 1 hour wait? And 2nd is can you tell me good rides at Great Adventure and tell me which rides are pretty bad? And can you give an estimate of how long the wait would be for the rides you mention? IF you help you get 10 points!

  1. Six Flags Great Adventure is pretty sweet. The Kingda Ka is a ride I went on. And a 1 hour wait isn't that bad. One thing with the Kingda Ka though, is that it's around a 30 second ride. The roller coaster will launch so fast, you don't have time to scream. Going up the 400 feet is the worst part, because it feels like your stomach is at your throat, but once you make it too the peak, you get your breath back and are able to scream. That drop puts your stomach at your feet, but it's the best feeling in the world. It was definitly worth it for that drop only. It's not the best roller coaster, but it's still really fun. So yeah, go on the Kingda Ka.

As for the best rides, you need to ride the following or you won't have an awesome time:

    Batman:The Ride - Inverted Rollercoaster

Superman: Ultimate Flight - Lay-down Rollercoaster

    El Toro- Wooden Rollercoaster

Great American Scream Machine - Looping Rollercoaster

    Medusa- Floorless Rollercoaster

Nitro - 23 Stories High Rollercoaster

Rolling Thunder - Dual Track Wooden Rollercoaster

Kingda Ka - A Crazy Person Rollercoaster

Those rides. There's more to do when you're there, but do most of those. Most of them have pretty long lines, but it's worth the wait. Have a good time!

  2. Six Flags Great Adventure is my favorite park to go to. Mostly because of it's awesome selection of amazing coasters. If you've never been on Kingda Ka before, than one hour wait is definitely worth it. It's an experience that you can't get anywhere else. It is the tallest in the world after all. Another amazing coaster - and my favorite in the park - is El Toro. It's a massive wooden coaster that drops down at a 76 degree angle. Wait times for this ride will probably be lengthy. It's totally worth the wait though. Along with those there are several other coasters and I personally don't think any of the them are bad. No matter which ride you go to there is always a chance of long lines*.

Here is a list of all the coasters in the park:

-Kingda Ka (128 mph, 456 feet high)

    -El Toro (Wooden coaster)

    -Nitro (Sit-down Hyper-coaster)

-Batman: The Ride (Sit-down Inverted Coaster)

    -Medusa (Sit-down floorless coaster)

    -Rolling Thunder (Classic wooden coaster)

    -Runaway Train (Sit-down family coaster)

-Superman: Ultimate Flight (Lay-down flying coaster)

-Great American Scream Machine (Sit-down Corkscrew Coaster)

-Blackbeard's Lost Treasure Train (Sit-down family coaster)

-The Dark Knight (Sit-down Dark Indoor coaster)

The wait times are usually the longest for:

Superman: Ultimate Flight (up to 5 hours)

    Kingda Ka (2-3 hours)

    El Toro (3-4 hours)

    Nitro (2-2 1/2 hours)

    Medusa (1-2 hours)

Scream Machine almost never has a long line. Same with Rolling Thunder and Runaway Train. I recommend hitting up Scream Machine first as a warm up ride.

So to sum it all up - all the rides are great, none are bad.  Lines get long no matter what and there's nothing you can do about it*. No matter how long you wait, it's definitely worth it.

*Pssst! Get yourself a Flash Pass. It reserves a ride for you and tells you when to come back and you don't have to wait in lines! Once you come back at the time it says you walk right on the ride. The line for Superman was 5 hours and I got on in 20 minutes! For Kingda Ka 40 minutes and El Toro 15 minutes. Trust me, get it it's worth every penny.
