I need something basic and not too expensive, but decent quality because I want to start cross country and dont have a ton of money to spend on shoes at this moment.

  1. I would get a pair of asics. They are probly some of the best you can get for the price. Unless you find a really good deal.

    But good luck runnin kid.

  2. go to a local running store. and i don't mean like footlocker...a real running store and talk to them. they'll put u on a treadmill and check out your form to see if you need a special type of shoe. they'll be able to match u up best with a good shoe.

  3. Welcome to cross country! You are going to love it!

I always buy asics because I prefer their structured, supportive fit (and they are the best you can get for the money)

However, if you like a more cushiony feel, go with Saucony (they are also great and reasonably priced generally). Also this type of shoe is very structured as well.

-both styles are great for cross country. asics support the foot on uneven surfaces and the Saucony brand keeps the foot comfortable when it steps on rocks and stuff)

If you eventually have enough money, consider buying another pair of sneakers and alternate wearing the two pairs on practice days. This helps avoid injury and helps your legs feel fresh every day!

    Good luck!

  4. asics are great running but inexpensive running shoes these do great for me when im training

  5. Saucony Cohesion, about $40 at Academy & Sports Authority
