What are good things to put in a housewarming basket?

My boss is getting a divorce and just bought a house on his own.. I know it needs a little work like painting and stuff but I was wanting to make him a great basket with things he would need.. I was going to at first just get him a gift card to home depot but I don't think he will take it from me he will say something like " you could use that for your remodel" or something like that.. he has been a great boss and has been a great rock for me while going through my mom having breast cancer and passing I want to give him a great gift to try to repay him for all he has done for me and my family.

not handy at all!! ( like he asked me how hard it would be to replace his mini blinds or should he hire someone to do it kind of not handy)

Kitchen items- if he can cook- dish towels with kitchen utensils, maybe a gift cert to a grocery store to go with it- to stock up on food essentials?

A small work crew plus a basket of home-made or Bakery fresh goodies & drinks.

Maybe a do-it-yourself home maintenance book.  Lowe's has some in the book section that are great for people who aren't handy.  They even have a basic tool list in one of them so you can load the basket with items he will need to maintain his house.  You can also do a gardening or yard maintenance theme with a lawn care book (Otho has a good one with schedules)

Candle and lighter, dish towels, place mats and cloth napkins, gourmet dip(s) and crackers/chips, quality scented pump hand soap, bottle of wine with 2 glasses. Place on tray/platter that can be used for serving said dip and crackers.

Try a laundry themed basket:  Detergent, good hangers (pant and reg.)some for Dr. and some for daughter, fabric softener sheets, stain remover, cedar blocks for in drawers and shoes, Fabreeze, laundry bag for daughter and put all in nice laundry basket.
