What are good towns 1 hour from london??

Hello,

Just wondering what towns are close by to London??? I am looking for something about an 1 hours drive. My husband and I are planning our Honeymoon and wanted to book a hotel or B&B close too it. I wanted to book something very romantic but not cold and Modern.

I would advise trying towns South or west of london rather than essex . and even though i live in essex its not that great for old england towns although the channels lodge below is nice :)

South coast is very nice and about 1-1.5 hrs drive Hastings/Rye/Hove all very nice places to stay

45 Min's outside London near chelmsford Channels lodge is nice

The George in Rye is a very romantic place to stay although very expensive. i would say its about 1hr - 1hr15 Min's from London

my favorite stunning Over The Top hotel were the interior designers have really gone to town- some rooms are very modern but most are very cosy (some have some amazing old antiques) -- again expensive !

beacons field one isn't open yet but i have stayed at the oxford one a few times and food/staff and hotel was off the scale :)

Windsor, Henley, Weybridge, Ascot, Sunningdale, Bracknell, Woking, Wokingham, Guildford - plus many more.  All of these mentioned have old romantic hotels.  Look on the web.  Also look at this Answers from 1 month ago.
