  1. Chicken pox is a strain of the herpes virus. The amino acid l-lysine Vitamin C fights it and even has shortened the length in the duration of shingles in people I know.  Shingles is actually chicken pox. The chicken pox herpes virus stays in the spinal chord after we get over it and when we get old it can reappear  if our immune system gets weaker. The chicken pox herpes virus travels up through our nerves  to the skin sometimes causing great pain.

Now l-lysine is a free form amino acid that is already digested so it's taken on an empty stomach. There are some companies that say to take it with food and this is wrong 100% for sure. Food dilutes it.

Esther C with Bioflavanoids{Vitamin P} is the best C in supplemenal form and 500 to 100 mgs a day is good.

FYI l-arginine promotes herpes production and you might want to look up what foods are high in it as I forgot, but I thing nuts are one type high in arginine. Also some energy drinks have it too.

I would also drink 100% cranberry juice as it flushes the system good.

I would do a lot more too,but I'm a professional herbalist and know what I'm doing. This might help you,but always start slow when taking something new and never take a free form amino acid for a long period like over 2 months.

  2. soak your self in camameal. or mustard. when i had the pox it worked

  3. There are many ways to soothe the itching; but, chicken pox really can't be gotten rid of like a bacterial infection (chicken pox are caused by a virus).

Avoid getting hot and get plenty of rest while drinking plenty of fluids.

Some people take cool baths with a soothing soap - fragrance free Dove would be excellent.

You can also use Calamine Lotion to help soothe the itch.

I've known people to use itch-relief creams, like hydrocortisone cream, but they are really limited in how much you can use. If there are only a few blisters, it would be fine to use, but if there are several patches of blisters, you'll want to use something else.

Finally, there is Aveeno Oatmeal Bath (or an equivalent product). Colloidial Oatmeal is known for soothing itchy skin.  Just follow label directions.

PS avoid scratching, as it can spread the blisters and cause scarring.
