Depends on what you like. I personally listen to 80's Hair Bands when I'm working out. That stuff is full of energy. I've actually heard someone listen to Polka music while they were working. It wouldn't work for me but whatever floats his boat. Really, if you like it, it'll work for you. It basically just gets your mind away from thinking you are working out and getting tired. You are just distracting your mind with some good tunes. My wife listens to mellow music and country when she is on the treadmill and it works out great for her.

i like to get on itunes and find pre-made workout/running mixes for sale in the itunes store. if you don't want to buy all the music, find one with a lot of songs you already have and make a mix.

You should listen to soundtracks from movies. They are fun to listen to because you will kind of recognize the songs, but still have new music to listen to every time. With soundtracks, you seem to hear different things every time you listen to them. That is what I would suggest!
