What are good volunteer opportunities that are suitable for children or families?

The children are 6 and 8, although the 8 year old has the most interest.

I have a 7 year old daughter and we have an organization near us that makes meals for the homeless once a month.  There are few others in the area as well but they are more frequent and I have so many other things that's what fit our schedule.  Also my church does weekly sandwiches and we donate one week a month for that.  You may want to check with your local Kiwanis as my daughter helps out with things I do with them as well.  Also all the work we do is prep work the kids are not  "exposed"
