What are good ways to stop the pain from my tetanus shot??

i just got a tetanus shot yesterday, and the actual shot didn't hurt but today i feel really sore. What are some good ways to help with the soreness??

I am a paramedic and it hurts no matter what medication is injected, its normal. The only thing that might help is to vigorously rub (massage) the area. Also apply ice.
