  1. So far as I know, they're generally made out of corrugated steel.

  2. You should be able to tell by the weight, but most are made of iron coated in zinc, or steel. A grain bin made of aluminum would not stand up to the punishment of the grain load, wear of the automated equipment or the manual shoveling.

  3. VARIOUS MATERIALS SUCH AS ALUMINUM, PLASTIC, CONCRETE, STEEL, AND SO FORTH.

  4. all grain bins today are made of steel and yes it is galvanized use a magnet it will stick to steel not aluminum i personally have never heard of a bin being made from aluminum but there could have been some made and i am sure they would most likely be small ten thousand bushel or less

  5. galvanized steel

  6. not aluminum...galvanized steel

  7. Butler for one made grain bins out of aluminum in the 50's and 60's.  The material is much lighter than steel.  Use a magnet to check as to it's make up, even a refrigerator magnet will work.  And yes, it will handle the weight of grain.  Got a 18 foot diameter 6 ring in use now.

  8. They are made from aluminum i know i just had 2 filled with wheat that just got blown over 2 days ago but i also have a few pit silos made from rebar and concrete and yes the aluminum will hold grain they can blow over though which is the olny bad thing about them. just take it to the recycling center if it is to bad to repair.
