I am throwing a 30th birthday party, with about 50-100 Family & Friends. Need easy and quick recipes or suggestions for great party food. I need things that do not require a lot of prep time or hands on cooking. I am the hostess, chef and doing to all by my self. It is a surprise party and do not have many helpers! All suggestions are appreciated. Thanks

  1. Chips, party wings, beer, carrots and dip, fruits pizza, hot dogs, soda, popcorn, juice, mix drinks, small sandwich, tuna and crackers, cookies.

  2. lots of popcorn chicken all you have to do is pop it in the oven

  3. Veggie Pizza works great because it serves a lot of people.

    You'll need:

    2 tubes crescent rolls

    3 oz. cream cheese

    1/2 package ranch dressing mix

    4 oz. sour cream

    4 oz. shredded cheese

Assorted veggies (I like green onion, black olives and red pepper)

    Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

Spread rolls on a cookie sheet to make the crust.  Bake about 7 minutes or until golden brown.  Cool completely.

In a bowl, use mixer to combine cream cheese, ranch mix and sour cream.  Spread on cool crust.  Top with cheese and then sprinkle with chopped veggies.  I serve right from the cookie sheet so no hassle.

  4. Best Tortilla Chip Dip Ever!!

*First spread cream cheese in a plate

*Then lightly spead salsa on top

*Then spread shredded cheese over that

*You can put taco meat in it as well or warm in the oven for a few mins.....optional

Mini Wraps (you can put anything in them...)

I like --turkey, mayo, cheese, lettuce, any sort of seasoning

then you cut them into little pieces and they are bite size...

I have tons of ideas.. if you need more

  6. fried chicken

    recipe:

    >Chicken pieces

    >Buttermilk

    >Mustard

    >Flour

    >Crisco shortening

Place chicken pieces in a large glass or ceramic bowl. Mix together buttermilk and mustard and pour over chicken. Cover and place in your refrigerator fridge for at least three hours. This can also be done the day before.

Remove chicken pieces from the buttermilk mixture and roll in seasoned flour. Shake off the extra flour and place chicken pieces on a plate. Not touching is preferred.

In a cast iron skillet melt enough Crisco to fill the skillet 1/3 full. Total depth of Crisco should be at least 1/2 of the height of your largest chicken piece. Heat to medium.

Without crowding the chicken pieces, carefully add prepared chicken to the hot Crisco. Allowing room around each piece will allow the chicken to cook evenly. Also make sure the Crisco is not to hot as the outside will be done before the inside is cooked.

Turn pieces only once during cooking. When the chicken is golden brown and crispy it is done. You should test one piece by cutting into it with a knife. If juices run clear, the chicken is done.

Remove chicken from skillet and place on paper towels or napkins before serving.

  7. Try pizza cups, my best creation (my only one). What you do is take dough but not cookie dough, crescent dough, take a cupcake tray (not to big), flip it over and put the dough on the bumps. Cook it until it looks good, once you finish cooking it take the dough off the tray, flip it over, put pizza sauce in it then cheese and heat it so the cheese melts and the sauce is hot. Then you have pizza in a cup!

  8. Spinach Dip.

Two 10oz. packs of frozen spinach.

Two 16oz containers of Sour Cream.

    Two cups of mayo.

Two packs of Leek Soup mix.

    Chopped green onion.

thaw spinach and mix it all together will all the ingredients.

Serve with sour dough bread or tortilla chips.  Everyone will love it, I always get so many compliments on my spinach dip....

  9. I like the spinach dip that is in the bread bowl.

Buy the Knorr seasoning package and it has the directions on the back, basically sour cream, seasoning package, red onion and spinach.  Hollow out a loaf of pumpernickel bread and fill it with the spinach mixture.  You also need to cube up another fresh loaf for dipping those pieces in the dip.  Everyone really enjoyed this at my last party.  I brought it to my friends house.

  10. Since you will be doing much of the work yourself, I would suggest a cold buffet.  Pre-made salads and cold cuts and buns etc. are what I would serve.  Veggie, pickle and fruit trays can also be purchased at most grocery stores these days as well as frozen shrimp rings.  Trays of cookies and squares could be brought by guests even if you are having a cake.  If anyone offers to bring something, get them to commit to a specific salad or whatever and keep a list so that you know what you might have to buy or make yourself.
