These types of plants are the oldest types of trees on the Earth! Gymnosperms are plants that produce cones. In the cones are the seeds. This is why "gymno"="naked" & "sperm"="seed". A naked seed which isn't covered. The main type of plant are conifers which include pines, spruces, and firs. They are known as evergreens because of keeping the green needles. Gymnosperms also don't produse flowers or fruit. This is what I meant when I said "they are naked" and "the seed isn't covered".
