Question:

What are healthy low calorie snacks?

I'm on a diet, just quit smoking, and starting a new job so my brain is screaming "EAT" at me constantly!

What low calorie snacks are there that I can eat, that are tasty? I'm more of a savory person than a sweet person, and I'm not overly keen on most fruit.

Also what safe ways are there to curb my appetite?

Thanks :o)

  1. Well if your quitting smoking gum chewing can really help.  As for some low calorie snacks, veggies and dip, a half a turkey sandwich, cottage cheese, or even a handful of nuts.  As for curbing you appetite if your looking for a quick fix pill there really isn't any that work good.  What I do is drink plenty of water, try to make sure I eat at least every three hours and include both protein and fiber in your snacks.  That will keep you full until the next snack time.  And remember you can snack on almost anything as long as you limit the quantity.

  2. My favorite "discovery" as of late are Gerber Graduates Puffs. This might sound crazy since they are for babies, but they are actually really good and incredibly low calorie---80 puffs has only 25 calories. The entire container only has 150 calories. They come in flavors like sweet potato, sweet corn, peach, cherry, etc. They are also low in sodium because they are for kids.

They are in the baby food aisle at the grocery store.

  3. My favorite snack to curb my appetite is the whole wheat mini gold fish by peperidge farms... You also ;may want to check out these suggestions.

  4. Hey! Congratulations on quit smoking!

For me, the best way to curb my appetite is to eat 5 meals a day, every 3 hours. My best snack, in between breakfast and lunch, and lunch and dinner is yogurt with fresh strawberries and quiwis mixed in. It's really good and good for you, the yogurt gives you protein and keeps you full and the fruit gives me that sweetness that I always crave.

Try to drink your 8 cups of water or more everyday but not with your  meals... that keeps me full and also distracted  :-D

Good Luck with your job and diet!
