  2. I am a mum of 2 young boys ( 5 & 3) and my Arab is my escape.! I go from mum, mum, mum to run run run. I feel so free on my horse. No responsibility's, no concequences, just me and my Arab running amuck.!

  6. It's definitely a lifestyle.

    Hopefully someday a job.

But to me, my horses are like my best friends, because no matter what, they'll listen, and won't interrupt you with their problems when you're busy with your own.

  7. Lively hood, best friends, my morning noon and night. I cannot think of anything I would rather do with my life other than working with horses.

  8. my life, my passion, my soul...

without my horses I am nothing, just a crazy freak...but when you put horse in front of it it becomes a HORSE crazy freak, and that describes me soo well lol xDDDDDDDDD

  9. my best friends :)

  10. Horses are what gives my life a purpose and value. They are my reason to get up every morning. They are worth anything they cost me. I have been told I seem to like horses better than people.

  11. horses are something special to me, i've always wanted to be around them, even if it was to just groom them or clean their stalls. . . to spend a whole day at the barn (in 100degree weather or with 5 feet of snow on the grown) was like heaven because horses are what make me happy.

i'm "all grown up" now and in college ect, and my time with horses has gone down to almost none, but i still remember all the good times and plan on having more good times when the time is right.

  12. there my life...my best friend....and a way to get away from people and things.....

  13. they are the verge of poverty

  14. My horse is my life, I literally was that little girl saving all her money as a child, and now here he is. I was proud to buy him without any help from my parents, even if it took me until I was in college :) It's my way of life, and my true passion.

  15. My horse is my passion. He keeps me sane and gives me clarity.

He is my best 4-legged buddy, who love me no matter what. He

Always cheers me up and always makes me feel better about myself.

and a best 2nd choice is he is a lifestyle.

  16. my hobby, life, could not live without them!!!!!

  17. Most definitely a way of life/lifestyle!

  18. My horse..he means the world to me..i would do anything for himand he knows that :p..hes my best freind.. i love him to peices and i dont know where i would be without himm..hes given me so much confidence now and i trust him with my life...

  19. My horse is the only thing I live for, pretty much. Everything else comes and goes, but he always stays.

  20. They are majestic, soulful and my escape from the doldrums of day to day challenges.  Being in the barn environment make me feel healthy and free.....and hot and sweaty!!  And they are my way of socializing with people as no one understands horse people and our infactuation than other horse people and the comraderie of all of us at a show or schooling or just being barn brats!!

It's my hobby and the only thing worth doing with my free time.  I wish it was the opposite and they were the money making machines..but no such luck..it's on me to support!!

Horses and working around them are also my source of exercise...every muscle group!!  Beats being at a stinky closed in gym working against a machine or on dirty floor mats.

  21. A way of life. defiantly

Honestly, having, owning and loving horses could be classified as a religion without all the rules and boundaries.

1 rule though is no abuse.

most people who are involved with racing and stuff think they are money making machines. most not all and it is disgusting sometimes.

my horse is my all, when we ride we are one. that all it is too it.

One way to know if someone is a horse person is If u Love the smell of horse. i love it and especially in the morning.

well that wat i think.   hope i help

  22. my life, my best friend, my shoulder to cry on, my guardian angel. etc

My horses are everything to me, thats why when one of my horses died I was extremly upset and shut the rest of the world away from me.

Horses are really my life and soul, they have been since I was bwt 2.

I love horses sooooo much they are all my companions

  23. Horses are what takes my breath away and puts the tears in my eyes. They cause goosebumps to crawl up my back and my fear to melt away. When I'm with my horse, I am whole. We are a team, a family, and best friends. Our bond is the strongest in the world and the envy of all others. We work together, one graceful machine. We are powerful and gentle, emotional and strong. Together we can conquer the world and bring leaders to their knees. Nothing can stop us when we are together, our love for each other knows no limits. Horses will always be what makes me tick, the air in my lungs, the beat in my heart. Without horses I could not live, for they are what keeps me going.

  24. Heaven

    Life Saver

    Psychiatrist(sp?)

    Teacher

  25. I'd have to say that allriledup06 took the words right out of my mouth. My horse is everything to me, and I don't think I could live without her right now. She's always been there for me, when I'm frustrated, depressed, or bursting with joy. (She's almost always the reason for my happiness :] ) They're my passion, my soul.

  26. IGreat question.  I think about this when people allege that the measure of a trainer is his show record.  The best trainers I know for what I want aren't winning world championships. In fact, most of the trainers I know who went the show circuit route are not happy about what they sacrificed to get there.

Long ago I made a choice based on this question and I chose that horses were, for me, a quest for perfection in horsemanship...a relationship that would grow and develop without being prostituted by monetary motives.

I compare it to an attorney who is just a darned good attorney, versus one who goes into politics and becomes governor.  The best attorney is not the governor because you can't focus on being an attorney and also become a governor.  The best horse trainers are not necessarily in the political arena of horse showing.  Those trainers have to focus on politics and money.  The best trainers for me focus on how to improve the training of horses.  When trainers like Parelli are challenged because they aren't winning world championships, it's like claiming that the best attorneys are only the ones who went into politics.  If I wanted to win championships, I'd  find a trainer who focuses on that.  If I want a good attorney, it won't be one in politics.  And if I want a good horse trainer, for me it will be one who just is about training horses, and not politics or making money.  When I pick a trainer to follow,  I pick one who has nothing to do with the politics of showing, and that way I find one that really focuses on how to train horses, and not how to win championships....two very different goals for me. That title of championship means the wrong values and the wrong training for my horse.  When I want to become the President of the US I'll find a political advisor to train me, but if I just want to be a good attorney, I'll find a good attorney to guide me.  For me, horses are about the purity of the relationship you can only find with an animal that is bigger than you, and yet allows you to get on it's back and ride it.

  27. i have a horse named Party Like A Rockstar( its because he is an amazing jumper and is rally fast lol) but anyways, he was/is my first horse and i love him to death. hes like a best friend to me. horses are a passion to me. they are my everything. whenever I'm sad all i want to do is go into my horses stall and throw my arms around him. its more than just a sport to me. idk about anybody else but thats how i feel

  28. For me, a lifestyle.  I've ridden for 34 of my 40 years and been a horse owner for 29 years, almost all of that time I've taken care of them myself.  Now, I don't have nearly as much time to ride as I did when I was younger, so I spend more time taking care of my 4 horses than riding them, but it's just part of my life, not something that I see dropping because the work has outweighed the benefit.  Also, I have a stubborn optimistic streak, that always says I'll have more time to ride soon.  It has gotten somewhat better this year since my 7 year old son is good enough to ride independently so we can both ride at the same time.

  29. horses are a way of life, and a hobby

they can be money making machines, and i'm okay with that as long as they mean more too you than the money your making.

and they can be great hobbies as long as you put your horses needs and cares first

i've seen alot of wonderful horses top show horses, to a regular trail horse, some people have no feelings, and to them a horse is just an object,.. like a car or something.. and i don't like that.

a horse can do ANYTHING you NEED it to do..job, work, show..and so on, but a horse can ONLY be a horse

    and everyone should remember that
