I've surfed a bunch and i want a long skateboard to get around on just for the heck of it. I have never skateboarded and obviously i can go to a shop and ask someone but i'd like to know a little bit about what i'm looking for before i go. Anything i should keep in mind? i'm not looking to go to the xgames... just a board that's easy to learn on.

  1. LMao you should get a lognboard! They have big wheels to go over crack to make your ride smooth and a lot faster and the bearings are really fast. Some lognboard bend to support weight and the trucks are pretty strong. I suggest a sector 9 skateboarrd its pretttty cooool =)

  2. there is an appeal to longboards, but unless you have alot of hills and steep roads, id recommend a normal skateboard for the greater maneuverability.  ive skated for about 10 years, but i live in louisiana with absolutely flat ground, so ive never felt like i had the option of a longboard, though id love one with some good hills.  if youre skating around on the sidewalk or the street, youre gonna want a normal skateboard for the large tail and nose so you can steer it around easier.  sadly without the hills i dont think your longboard will get much use.
