There are a lot of small businesses that you can start from home.  My criteria for a good home business is that it's one that sells a real product (or service) to real people (or companies).  

When you think about the "work from home scams" you'll find that they don't meet this criteria.  For instance, why would a *real* company pay you $2 to stuff an envelope?  They could pay someone in their office minimum wage to stuff envelopes.  They could have an enevelope stuffing machine do it (there really are such things!)  Stuffing envelopes does not meet the criteria listed above.

So what are *real* jobs that you can do from home?  Think about the goods and services that are needed.

* You could start a home day care

* You could start a secretarial service/virtual assistant service

* You could become a computer repair consultant

* You could start a window tinting business

* You could become a professional organizer

And the list goes on.

Think about your interests and figure out how they relate to needs *real* people have.

Working from home has a lot of different industries you can look into.  I don't know what your qualifications are, so I can't really be specific on any type of job that you would be able to do.  Most people I know that work out of their home, work for themselves.  Their job is running their business out of their home.  There's two types of jobs, one is a home based job and the other is a home based business.  Both are done completely different, both have completely different income levels.  I really need more info from you to point to one of these directions.  The best way I can help you on what jobs you can do from home, is simply refer you over to an article which gives a lot of information.  Based on what you know about yourself, choose either a home job in an industry in which you think you could qualify for, or look into home based business opportunities.  The article covers both aspects, and have specific details on each direction.  You decide which direction you want to go and look at the different businesses and industry.  That's about all I can help with without further information from you.

There are lots of jobs that you could consider if you want to do it from home. There are paid survey, online data entry jobs, freelancers and others. Just be caution not to pay any upfront fees to them if you intend to signup with them.

You can try earning some extra cash using "Get Paid To" websites.

The one I'm a member of is free to join and use and basically what you do is fill out free surveys and offers. The pay around $.25-5.00+ depending on which one you do, and each survey and offer takes 5mins or less to complete. There are hundreds of them to do and they add more all the time as well.

The minimum payout for the site is $10, this is easibly reachable within the first couple hours of so in participating in the website. On average people probably earn around an extra $50-100 a month.
