I'm 13 and i know I want to work with endangered animals such as the big cats. I've always devoted my time to animals and care greatly for them. I'd like to know some jobs that help save these animals...Would it be considered wildlife rehabilitator? Or is it somethig different? Also does anybody know of ways I could help to follow the career and do this job? I've always wanted to work with animals, but I never knew what I wanted to do. I was looking online and found a tiger haven, and I knew I wanted to work with big cats. I'm not afraid to get injured while helping the animals out, and I want to make sure the animals are around for the next generations to love. I know I can devote the rest of my life to animals and caring for them never gets old. I volenteer at the local shelter, and when I'm old enough I want to get a job at the local zoo to work with the animals. I can take stress and i already take long painful hours of studies. It'd definitly something that means a lot to me.

  1. You might want to look at being a wildlife biologist or zoologist where you work to preserve these animals in their natural habitat in the wild.  While some animal rehabs or sanctuaries are good for educating people and do take care of tigers that may not be able to be released, animals that have been abused, or that are confiscated from people keeping them as pets..these organizations do little for preserving these species in the wild or preserving their natural habitat. Both types of jobs can be very rewarding depending on exactly what you want to do.

  2. I know that a zoo Curator (Educator) can encourage people to make donations and develope an understanding for these animals (I'm going to be a zoologist myself). I also now that the World Wildlife Fund has openings ocasionally, but the jobs are rather low-paying. If you want to work more with captive populations, try http://www.aza.org/JobListings/ . If low-pay doesn't bother you, go ahead and follow your passion!

  3. They are called wildlife conservationist.
