  2. These are vague terms. What do you consider good parenting? The best answer I can give is that most of our behaviors are learned at home. Didn't Maslow say that if you gave him a child for the first three (or was it 6?) years, he could make him into anything he liked?

    That is a creepy statement and IMO, not entirely true. But it is close enough.

  3. A good parent teaches a child how to be an adult, so he won't need a parent anymore.   The child needs to know how to control his own emotions, how to behave in specific circumstances--and, yes, to be educated enough that he can support himself, as well as helping others.  It's tough to grow up.

  4. Respectful, positive, caring behavior.  Good parenting teaches a child to respect those around him and to believe in himself.
