  1. Doesn't it use core muscles?  the abs and lower back?

  2. yeah dude you don't need really strong muscles at all. I'm pretty skinny and I can to it. I wouldn't focus on the arms either, no offense, just cuz you can go it without hands. its really just getting the move down. it helps me to arch my back as much as possible to get my legs right under me.

  3. Just practice kip-ups. Its a matter of technique, not strength... I use my arms mainly when I kip-up, and my friend uses a flicking motion with he's legs.

  4. You're not using your leg muscles in the slightest. But if you want to get jacked up legs, do squats, lunges, calf raises, etc No equipment necessary.

For kip ups, you need technique and an adequate core (abs, back, pelvis). The explosive motion is coming from your hips and your arms are just there to give you a little extra boost.

Honestly though, if you want to do a kip up, just keep practicing them. I did my first one a long time ago when I was fat and lazy.

****You don't need visible abs to do one. You just get the momentum going with your hips and let your body follow through. It doesn't require all that much power.

I would say that most people who are even semi active have the physical ability to do the kip up, regardless of body type. It's just a matter of learning the trick to doing it.

  5. not to burst ur bubble but people below the age of 18 cant develop their muscles, and the kip up does not rely on lower body strength. the kip up relies on upper body strength cause if u dont have any upper body strength then how can u pull urself up. u dont just use ur legs. the kip up uses the speed of the legs to bring the body up a little and the upper body bring the kip up into shape.work on legs but the upper body more.

  6. splits, and butterflys. except don't just sit there bend your back and bring your head to your feet. Then repeat. Also running, running gives you stamina, and great for building up legs. Doing splits gains flexibility. Great for doing all sorts of things
