What are males motives for s*x and love?

Would a typical male be sexually involved and in an emotional relationship with the same woman for a few years without feeliing love and attachment to her?

Most females would not be without feeling love and attachment.

But, what about males?

I think to be emotionally involved in a relationship...there has to be some form of attachment...

I am in a relationship where we love each other, are emotionally involved and he is definitely attached to me...but we aren't having s*x (intercourse)...

I think men want a partner that will be their best friend.

It is hard to believe there is a winner's circle that has players who dont need their mates . They just use mates and remain loyal to their group for s*x so love and life is totally different from how the outsider sees love and life

From a biological perspective, a male's best strategy is to mate with as many women as possible in the shortest amount of time.  A female's best strategy is to find a male that can protect and support her offspring.  Even though we have higher reasoning nowdays, these urges are still nagging at the back of our brains.

I don't know about others but personally I need the emotional attachment for the s*x to be good.  In my head it's like if there's no future in it then what's the point?  

Emotions and s*x can effect everyone the same way; both males and females.  I know a couple right now who are going through a rough spot.  The wife recently said that she's not nor has she ever been in love with her husband; despite being married and currently pregnant.  The husband on the other hand is completely lost and just doesn't know what to do now.

From what I've seen.  s*x is great but not a good enough reason to stay in a long term relationship....unless it's really, really, great.  I mean so great that it was good for the neighbors.  Truth is, at the end of the day most men are just like most women.  We don't want to be alone.

I assume it would be the same. I know biologically, males are wired to want to spread the seed to as many potential partners as possible, but most people long for a relationship at one point that is with someone they truly love and connect with, in more ways than just sexually. If a guy just wanted s*x, he'd probably be turned off by the girl's neediness to have a relationship and find someone else to s***w. Or, propose friends with benefits. Or both.
