What are max weights for racing jockeys (flat and over fences) in the uk?

just wondering if anyone knows what the maximum and minimum weight limits are for flat, national hunt, point to point and steeplechase jokeys????

  1. There are no maximum weight limits, as such, but obviously the heavier you are the fewer rides you will get.

    The minimum weight for a jump jockey (that is NH/steeplechase racing) is about 10st, although conditional jockeys (apprentices) may well ride slightly lighter.

    The current minimum weight in flat racing is 7st 12, though there are calls for the minimum to be raised to 8st 4 over fears that some jockeys are starving themselves and are at risk of eating disorders.

    I'm not sure about Point to Point riders, but at a guess I'd say the weights are higher as most of them are amateur riders.
