There has to be a purpose for everything that was made, but I never could figure out what could be the purpose of annoying, virus carrying mosquitoes.

  1. Everything that was made has a purpose? What is the purpose of a toad or a dog or a moose? They all just stand there, existing. It really depends on what you define as being useful. Mosquitoes are eaten by other animals, like bats. You could say that being food is their purpose.

  2. NOTHING! I hate them.

  3. Every creature on this earth has a purpose. They have been created for a reason, reasons which are we yet to realize.

Some common usefulness of mosquitoes are for -

    1. Pollination

    2. Food for other animals.

    3. In future who knows scientists might discover something potential from them which will benefit human kind.

Like the way they fly may provide some technology for flying, the way they use their senses to find food & shelter etc.

  4. They are definitely useful for many things that we are yet to discover.

  5. I recently read a report on the impact that they have on life. If they all vanished one day an incredible amount of plant and animal life would follow. They pollinate so create the earlier links of the food chain. It's been estimated that half of all the people that ever lived have died from diseases spread by the little ba*tards. That's good population control! The spread of all those diseases results in immunity in some populations and so makes us stronger.

I hate them too, but they have a purpose like everything else. (apart from the panda! Why?WTF?!)

  6. I know they are a food source for birds.  and a few other things just cant think of them

  7. To bring upon death. An average span of human life is 70 years. Now, diseases and or insect carrying diseases shorten that number. If people lived forever then life wouldn't make sense. The world would be filled with people literally. I hope one of them bites a convicted murderer or something, then they'll be super heroes.

  8. <<There has to be a purpose for everything that was made, but I never could figure out what could be the purpose of annoying, virus carrying mosquitoes.>>

As the world doesn't exist for your personal benefit, or the benefit of any particular species, imagining there "has to be a purpose for everything" is simply that; ie. imagining.  In reality, there doesn't have to be a purpose for anything.

One 'purpose' of mosquitoes is to make more mosquitoes.
