  1. they are cells located in the central nervous system, (these are actually located in the spinal cord) that send and transmit messages to your muscles


  2. They are also in your brain, not only in your spinal cord. The motor neurons in your brain are upper motor neurons, They are responsible for some voluntary and involuntary muscle control. The lower motor neurons are neurons that connect the brainstem and spinal cord to muscle fibers and they implement muscle movement.
