  1. I don't know a whole lot about skating but I've had friends that have done it for years. There's a VERY small group of any sport that will actually make it big. It also depends a lot on where you're from and who you know. The odds aren't super high but if no one ever dreamed big we wouldn't get anywhere! If that's what you really want to do and have a passion for it, Keep practicing. Just make sure you Keep your grades up so if it doesn't work out you have something to fall back on.

  2. Hmm.. sounds like me, except I'm a little older and I started 3 months ago, I'd suggest you take Rodney Mullen's advice to all skaters..

"Don't aim to become pro, skate for fun, if you keep trying and trying to become sponsored, it'll never happen, keep practicing, have fun and before you know it you'll be good at it."

Hope that helps, and your chances (and mine) out of 100% is approximately.... 5%.

  3. There are over 15 million skateboarders in the US alone, and there are only about 60 people who make their living from skateboarding.  That's about .0004%.  There are pros who make some income from skateboarding, but have to rely on another source of income.  There are several thousand of these pros.

Just getting sponsored locally is a great achievement in skateboarding.

Once you get your first sponsor, it is easier to get the next.  You mist skate in all the comps possible and place as well.  You will need to learn to skate vert.
