  1. The cool thing is that now universities will usually specify on their websites score averages, ranges or even minimums that you would need to get into their school.

I did a search for "UCLA Admissions Requirements" and I found the link below on the university's website. It looks like you will meet the academic standards. Do a search online for your other schools as well and you will have a good idea of what they are looking for. Your scores are good and your gpa is decent too. It's good that you have an internship and that you're in a sport. Any volunteer work is highly sought after.

Additionally, it will depend on what you want to major in. My brother had a perfect math score on his SAT, but a low verbal score, and he couldn't get into Northwestern as an education major, but he got in as an engineering major and later switched his major to education. He's been a math teacher ever since!

There is a good book I found at the bookstore (link below) called "What Colleges Don't Tell You". You might find it at your library if you don't have the money to buy it or you can flip through it at a Borders or Barnes and Noble. You're on the right track. Best wishes to you!!

P.S. Watch out for spelling mistakes on your applications!!

  2. Berkeley and UCLA - not too bad.  The rest - reasonably good.  I would say overall if you applied to them all you will get into at least one pretty much for sure.

    Thanks

    Bill
