What are my chances of getting into Stanford University???

i am a 17 yr old hispanic male from a chicago public school. i am currently a a senior. here is my resume.

4.3 weighted GPA

3.8 unweighted

#7 rank in my class out of 275

Junior National Honors Society Member

National Honors Society Member

4 yrs on baseball team (2 yrs varsity, 2 yrs cpt of JV team)

Amnesty Internatioal Member at school

Hispanic Club member

In school tutor (to freshman)

out of school part time job for 2 yrs

principles honor roll every year of high school so far

-22 on ACT ( i was devasted by this score, since on practice test i was getting 26's) (my writing hand was broken at the time though but i will retake it)

i also plan on applying for early decision and will let the univeristy know that i am re taking the ACT. i have 3 teahcers and a coach who are all willing to write a h**l of a recomendation for me. i am also fully capable of writing one of the best personal statements (essay) ever.this school year i am takeing 4 AP classes and i took 1 last year. this year i am taking AP psychology, Statistics, Literature, and Biology as well as honors Anatomy. last year i took AP enviromental. i am hoping to get almsot staright A's this year to increase my GPA even more. i plan on becoming a doctor in the future which is why im taking so many advanced science courses. i also have a sister who is an anesthisialogist and said she could get me to shadow doctors and watch them work inthe O.R. i will do that a few times. overall i am a great student who is hoping there is even the smallest chance that i could get into stanford university. any thoughts?

  1. I think you have a good chance but that ACT score could really hurt you. Im a junior in high school and I took the ACT as a sophomore and scored a 29 but it didn't really matter in the end cause I have a full ride to Georgia State on golf scholarship. If you retake the ACT and score really well then I think you could make it. If you're considering playing baseball there that might also help cause they have a good baseball team I think.
