  1. omg i am in the same sitution!

i have got bad grades freshmen and sophomore years aswell but jr. year i got it together! yay

but now im thinking what college to attend!!!!

i have a pretty good chance at a historically black college or university...they like to see blacks succeed regardless of high school grades.

i'd say a community college for you.

or a little college in alaska.

  2. it depends on the college. Community college isn't that bad, you can take some classes that will transfer to the college you want to go to and save some money that way. Plus it will be a lot easier to get into a "decent" college after you have already taken classes.

  3. Well, colleges place much more emphasis on your upperclassman years. There's often a place in the application for you to explain any academic underachievement, so there's a chance for you to redeem yourself. If you get really involved your senior year, keep your GPA up, and write some killer essays, you could probably get into a state school or a decent private school, or at least something above community college level.

  4. It will depend on your SAT or ACT scores and where you rank among your graduating classmates. I dont know where you go to schools at but I would imagine if you have another repeat year like this one, you will be in the top half maybe even the top quarter of your class, then you SAT or ACT score wont have to be that high.

Community college is a good way to get some of the hard basics out of the way even if you came home for the summer and took classes like Algebra, English, or History there.

For example I have an old roommate that failed College algebra three times but mad a B when he took it at community college.(its that much harder)

If you wind up at a CC, it wont be the end of the world but a great way to keep you college GPA up. Many times your first few years of school are more difficult than your upper level classes in your major.

Your chances are good, for you to end up at a descent school if you get a descent SAT or ACT score.

    Good Luck!!!

  5. Yikes on the first two years. But if you continue to do as well as you have this year, I'm sure you can still get into a decent college. Most colleges aren't as hard to get into as they seem.

Or so my surroundings at my own campus tell me.
