I know college admissions are hard to predict but I want some opinions of if I have a chance of getting into Lehigh, northwestern, cornell, tufts and johns hopkins. I'm interested in engineering and computer science and I'm going to be a senior next year.

some info:

-4.4 weighted gpa (don't know my unweighted gpa)

-took advanced chemistry and math analysis (is an accelerated pre-calculus class at my school), advanced track for science and math courses

-took AP chemistry and AP english language last year

-taking AP physics C, AP calculus BC and ap english lit next year

-member of national honor society, science national honor society and math honor society

-member of habitat for humanity (running for a position next year), varsity track and field, leadership position for the religious youth group I'm part of, peer tutoring

-volunteering at library and my church

-SAT score of 1410 for CR/math

-SAT II: chemistry 770, math II 740

-might take the SAT again or the ACT in october

thanks :)

  2. what is your SAT score on a 2400 scale?

Well, you're extracurriculars are okay but it doesn't seem like anything you are too involved in.  Cornell, Northwestern, Tufts and Johns Hopkins are are extremely hard to get into and you're chances are kinda slim. (Not that your stats are bad by any means but you are going to be up against the smartest people in the U.S. who will all have amazing grades and test scores.) I would definately pick the one you like the most and apply early decision to boost your chances and also pick some safety schools.

Since you are interested in science why don't you look at some schools that are more science oriented.  You could try UCSD, Penn state, Duke (reach), or any other UC schools.

  3. what were your scores on the AP tests for those courses? I think you have a really good chance of getting into all those school just on your grades and scores, but the extra-cirriculars put you over the top I'd say take the ACT just for variety and based on your GPA you might do better on the ACT which is more knowledge based but your SAT's really are enough, make sure you apply for the Gate Millenium scholarship, you'd make an awesome candidate if you come from a disadvantage background. I'm sure you'll get plenty of school aid but this scholarship gives you a full ride anywhere so you'll get refund checks for the leftover amounts and not have to work to have spending money, more time for studies.
