im talking about in the future...Right now im 16, 5'9 and 185 lbs, i kno i have a talent for this because me and my friends used to fight for fun full contact and i can take punishment and definitely deliver some standing up. my problems are on the ground...but if i train at a successful Brazilian jiu-Jitsu gym ( Gabriel Gonzaga trains there) for a couple of years would i have a chance at getting signed? What would i have to do to Better my chances, Thanks in Advance

  1. Gracie a roider???   god your sad,,,,   train in a few diff styles,,, as far as the "i fight my friends and can take punishment" your 16,,, and a 16yr old hits like a chick,, train HARD,,,, lil mu tie  sum bjj an a tad or wrestling

EDIT- i was guna let this go but i cant,,,,Gracie'n invented bjj,,, and Royce took 3 or the first 4 UFCs ,, before weight classes and when you had to fight 3 times in one night,,,,,,, and you "claim"to take Gracie jj and yur badmouthing Royce????? go to h3ll you scumbag,,,, your pathetic

to the 16yr old,,, good luck bro,,,ill be wachin 4 ya!

  2. geez drew grumpy much? maybe your hutting the roids like your gym owner gracie did?

As for your chances its really hard to tell.  While of course you need to train hard and have skill, you also need to have exposure and get yourself out there and known.  Try to build some sort of reputatin maybe to help hype yourself up a bit.

Edit:  To demon and guy above me

I respect Royce.  Is he a great fighter?  yeah.  Was he revolutional in the sport?  yeah.  But he ******* cheated.  He was on roids at some point in his career, and that to me makes me lose ALOT of respect to him.  **** that ****. Fight clean.

  3. gain experience fighting in tournaments.  Going to a gym where Gonzaga trains and watching doesnt give your claims of talent any crediblity.  So to answer your question, put up or shut up.

Details:  No roids for me buddy, besides I dont train under Royce.

To the asker, sorry if I came off as rude but this same question is asked time and time again.  Hard work and dedication is the only thing thats going to increase your chances of becoming a pro fighter.  Adaptation is key to being successful as well.  That means recognizing your weakness and finding ways to compensate for them.

to demon: Ive never bad mouthed Royce a day in my life.  The dumb **** below made the roids comment which was clearly aimed in Royces direction after testing positive for steroids after his last fight.  Get your facts straight before you start running off at the d**k sucker

  4. if u keep training hard all the the way until ur 20 or 21 i am sure u can turn pro and win, some mma matches, getting signed though is another thing all together its easy enough to get a pro fight, however for one of the bigger organizations to sign u, ur gona have to win at least 10 or possibly 15 matches in dominate fashion, before any major organization will give u a look and even then ur gona have an up hill battle bc their are so many fighters training since they have been 5, its possible its just gona take time and alot of training,, in all forms of fight

by the way Gonzagas trainer Ron, also teaches Kali classes at the dojo i attend, hes a cool guy and knows a tone of bjj, just keep training and u will make it
